The Fairfield eighth grade girls split at Keokuk Thursday night.
The first-teamers exploded offensively for a 46-18 victory.
Top scorer was Hannah Simpson who had 11 points and five rebounds. Mallory Lyon was next with nine points, six rebounds and three steals. Danielle Breen added eight points, four rebounds and six steals which tied for the team lead. Delaney Breen tallied seven points and was the co-leader in steals with six. Anna Dunlap?s stat line included five points, four rebounds and three steals. Brynley Allison contributed four points, two rebounds and three steals, while Hannah Bergen knocked down two points as well.
The second squad lost a thriller on the road 16-14 to the Keokuk Chiefs.
Sarah McAvan accounted for the majority of the offense with eight points. Branley Allison added 3 points, Hannah Bergren tallied 2 points, and Hailey Triska had a free throw plus seven rebounds. Jayden Burke was second on the team with five rebounds.
