A Fairfield police officer directs traffic at the intersection of East Burlington Avenue and South D Street, where a two-vehicle accident occurred at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday. According to the police log, one vehicle hit a streetlight and its airbag deployed. Dispatch received a report of at least one person injured. Fairfield firefighters were on scene less than an hour cleaning up fluids and debris.
Update: Rhonda Kay Davis, 27, of Fairfield, was issued a citation for running a red light while headed east on Burlington Avenue. She collided with a vehicle driven by Trista Sisk, 34, who was traveling south on D Street. Both drivers were transported to the Jefferson County Health Center. A child was in Sisk's car as well, but that child was not transported to the health center.
