Agencies coordinate in drug search

Several law enforcement agencies participated in a coordinated search for drugs on Thursday.


As a result, drugs, drug paraphernalia and an undetermined amount of currency was seized. Few details have been released about the location of the searches, and so far, no report of arrests has been made.


Participating in the search were Jefferson County Sheriff?s Office and Fairfield Police Department, along with law enforcement agencies in surrounding counties such as Wapello, Keokuk, Henry, Washington and Monroe. Also participating were the Department of Criminal Investigation, the Southeast Iowa Inner-Agency Drug Task Force and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
