CCC statue to be rededicated
KEOSAUQUA ? A new CCC statue at Lacey-Keosauqua State Park will be dedicated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the CCC Gatehouse at the west entrance to the park.
The new statue of a CCC worker replaces the statue that was stolen and destroyed in July.
The statue was placed in the park to commemorate the hard work the young men did in the 1930s and ?40s to build structures and conservation practices still used today in parks.
The ceremony will include a history of the statue and gatehouse renovations, followed by the unveiling of the new statue. Everyone is welcome.
