Robert Carl Thomas, 88, of Eldon, died at 11:27 a.m. December 29, 2017 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
He was born July 26, 1929 near Eldon to Carl and Lena Lynch Thomas. He married Iola Hemm October 28, 1950.
In addition to farming, he worked at the Eldon Elevator, for the city of Eldon and as a Grain Inspector for the USDA.
He was a member of Living Hope Bible Church.
Surviving is his wife, Iola; four daughters, Joyce Miller of Batavia, Judy (David) Wemer of Ottumwa, long lost twin daughters, Dana of Colorado and Debra of Arizona; 5 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Everly of Bloomfield.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Stanley and Stuart Thomas; a sister, Alice Thomas.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Living Hope Bible Church with Pastors Mark Clark and David Albert officiating. Burial will be in Fiedler Cemetery.
Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Living Hope Bible Church.
