The city of Fairfield will begin picking up burnable and chippable brush at 7 a.m. May 7.

? Nothing bigger than 24 inches in diameter or 13 feet in length will be accepted.

? Brush must be placed away from poles, fences and water shut-offs. City crews will not make a second trip through an area, and brush should be placed on the curb by 7 a.m. May 7.

? Piles must not interfere with traffic.

? The city recommends that this is an ideal time to do tree trimming since city crews are picking up the branches.
