The Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce is partnering with member businesses to welcome trick or treaters during their respective regular business hours on Halloween, Oct. 31.
Fairfield?s citywide trick-or-treat is from 5:30-8 p.m. Oct. 31, but trick-or-treaters can don their costumes early and visit local businesses during daytime.
?This event provides a great opportunity for families with preschoolers, homeschoolers, and/or those wanting to get started right after school,? said chamber director Detra Dettmann. ?It also gives business owners an opportunity to admire those costumes!?
More than 40 business locations are participating including The Fairfield Ledger, other businesses in the downtown, west Fairfield, and south Fairfield.
The Ledger will welcome trick-or-treaters during its normal business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Trick-or-treaters should look for the orange flyer in the window stating ?Trick-or-treat here.?
Lists of participating businesses were distributed to local childcare centers, preschools, several participating business locations and listed on the chamber?s website www.fairfieldiowa.com.
?We will be welcoming trick or treaters at the chamber office, too, so families can drop by here and also get the master list,? said Dettmann.
