Republican Christopher Peters will make a campaign stop Saturday in Fairfield when he visits the McElhinny House from 2-4:30 p.m.
Peters is running to unseat incumbent U.S. House Rep. Dave Loebsack, a Democrat, for Iowa?s second congressional district. Loebsack defeated Peters in the 2016 race, garnering 54 percent of the vote.
Peters resides in Coralville where he and his wife operate a surgical clinic. He grew up in Kansas, obtaining his medical degree from the University of Kansas, then served nine years as an officer in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. He has lived in Iowa since 2004.
