City enforcing weed height law

The area has received rain several days in a row, and coupled with the warm weather, means that grass and weeds are shooting high into the sky.

Fairfield code enforcement officer Scott Vaughan wishes to remind residents that the maximum allowable height for grass or weeds is 10 inches.

The city sends property owners one warning letter and one warning only for the year. If a resident does not comply with the request to cut the grass, a city employee will do it and charge the owner a fine of at least $75.
