Fairfield, Lockridge congregate meals


Congregate meals are served at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at the Fairfield Senior Citizen Center and at noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Lockridge Senior Center.

The menu for the coming week is:

Monday ? loose-meat burger, wheat hamburger bun, tater rounds, tomato slices, broccoli-cauliflower-raisin salad, banana.

Tuesday ? roast pork loin, au gratin potatoes, lima beans, strawberries and peaches.

Wednesday ? Swedish meatballs with gravy, spaghetti with vegetable salad, sliced carrots, ambrosia salad.

Thursday ? chicken cacciatore, sour cream mashed potatoes, poultry gravy, roasted brussels sprouts, fresh melon plate, chocolate chip cookie.

Aug. 31 ? chicken wrap, spinach salad, with dressing, red banana gelatin, vanilla wafer cookie.

Each meal also includes wheat dinner roll or bread, unless another bread item is noted, margarine and skim milk.

Reservations are required one day in advance. At the Fairfield site, reservations can be made either at the senior center or by calling 472-4403. At the Lockridge site, reservations must be called in to 319-696-3450 by 6 p.m.

For people 60 years of age and older and their spouse of any age, there is a suggested contribution based on income range. Individuals younger than 60 pay the full meal charge as posted at the meal site.

Bingo is scheduled to be played from 12:15-1:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at the Fairfield Senior Citizen Center.

Cards and other activities are planned from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Lockridge Senior Center.
