Fairfield resident Linda Stallone spoke at Monday?s city council meeting to notify the councilors of her plan to host an outdoor concert.
The band ?Van and the Movers? will perform at a backyard wedding reception from 6-9 p.m. Sept. 29 near the intersection West Stone Avenue and North Main Street. Stallone said there is a chance the band could play until 9:30 p.m. if asked to do an encore, and will definitely stop by 10 p.m. at the latest.
She asked the council to waive its nuisance ordinance. The councilors informed her that the noise ordinance applies after 10 p.m., so as long as the band stopped then, she was OK.
Mayor Ed Malloy asked Stallone what her neighbors thought about the concert.
?Most of them are invited, and they?ll all be informed,? she said.
The council approved Stallone?s request unanimously.
