KEOSAUQUA ? A benefit meal, auction and raffle for Scott Watson is planned Aug. 18 at the Roberts Memorial Building on the Van Buren County Fairgrounds in Keosauqua.
Doors open at 5 p.m., with the meal served at 6 p.m. and the auction starting at 7 p.m.
The night before Thanksgiving 2016, Watson was taken by ambulance to an Iowa City hospital. After a month of tests, he was diagnosed with vasculitis and complications from diabetes. He was transferred to Ottumwa Regional Health Center in December to start physical therapy, and on Dec. 29, was sent to Keosauqua Care Center to continue physical therapy. He returned home in March 2017 and continued physical therapy to regain strength and mobility.
June 8, Watson developed a serious infection requiring surgery.
?This wonderful family has had more than its share of setbacks, so please join us on Aug. 18 so we can help them out with some of their medical bills,? invite the event organizers.
