The Fairfield varsity volleyball team swept their tournament at home this weekend versus Centerville, PCM and Davis County.
?It was a great day for the Trojans,? exclaimed head coach Diana Drish. ?In our first game vs Centerville, we served 20 straight balls,? she added.
Fairfield won that first set 25-2 followed by a 25-11 game two victory for a 2-0 match win. PCM was next, but the Trojans dominated the Mustangs, as well claiming the match in two games, 25-14 and 25-6. Davis County ended the day for Fairfield, but with little success as the hosts planted their flag in a 3-0 day with 25-21 and 25-12 victories.
Statistical leaders included Danae Drish going 44-46 with six aces, Alison Godwin who made 25 kills, Ashtyn Drish and her 21 assists and Julia Fritz with four blocks.
Fairfield finished their regular season with a record of 23-8 and will host Keokuk in the first round of the Class 4A Region 7 playoffs at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
