Tuesday night wasn?t just about wins and losses for the Fairfield boys? basketball team.
Trailing for much of the night by 15 plus points, the Trojans continued to battle when they could have easily laid down in a 30-point blowout, instead losing by just 12, 64-52 to the Oskaloosa Indians.
Coach Mick Flattery said, ?The guys came out with great energy and answered Oskaloosa?s runs every time.?
He added that a great home crowd helped keep the kids motivated and in the game.
Dante Cingire led the Trojan scoring with 13 points to go with his four boards and two assists. Austin Simpson was right there offensively with 12 points and seven rebounds playing against a much taller opponent.
Coach Flattery said Mark Diers gave the team great energy off the bench. Diers scored eight points, grabbed four rebounds and drew a charge.
