Fairfield First Fridays celebrates local talent with open mic night

Fairfield First Fridays, set from 6-10 p.m. Friday, will feature some of the fantastic talent in Fairfield during the Townwide Open Mic event at Phoenix Rising Hall.

Paulina Sinaga will be emceeing the event filled with singers, musicians, comedians and more. When open mic was held during September in Central Park, the talent was amazing and there were 31 people who performed.

Many of the stores, restaurants and galleries will be open on and around the square during Fairfield First Fridays, including:

? Americus Gallery showing Christopher Kufner?s original oil paintings, figurative works and large-format photography on archival paper; oil paintings by Kim Kufner;, watercolor and ink paintings by Genevra Bell; art glass vases by David Lotton; and dichroic glass jewelry by Pedro Lujano.

? At Home will feature a cooking demonstration with Marc Freeman from 6:30-8 p.m. He will be making flourless chocolate cake.

? Carnegie Historical Museum is welcoming visitors from 6-9 p.m. to see its many collections. A children?s craft will be pinecone owls in celebration of the museum?s new owl logo.

? Crest Jewel will feature ?Heartfelt Art.?

? ICON Gallery will have the exhibit ?Found in Translation.? The artists are Judy Bales, Suanna Breed, Ananda Kesler and Joanie McGinnis.
