Fairfield, Lockridge congregate meals


Congregate meals are served at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at Fairfield Senior Citizen Center and at noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Lockridge Senior Center.


The menu for the coming week is:


Monday ? creamed turkey, mashed potatoes, 5-Way Vegetables, blushing diced pears.


Tuesday ? Salisbury steak with gravy, O-Brien potatoes, roasted broccoli cuts, Dixie Coleslaw, Strawberry Surprise.


Wednesday ? baked chicken, parsley boiled new potatoes, green beans almondine, banana bread.


Thursday ? cook?s choice with dessert.


May 18 ? pork ribletts, oven-roasted red potatoes, creamed asparagus, mandarin orange.


Each meal also includes wheat dinner roll or bread, unless another bread item is noted, margarine and skim milk.


Reservations for meals are required one day in advance. For the Fairfield site, reservations can be made either at the senior center or by calling 472-4403. For the Lockridge site, reservations must be called in to 319-696-3450 by 6 p.m. the day before.


For people 60 years of age and older and their spouse of any age, there is a suggested contribution based on income range. Those younger than 60 pay the full meal charge.


Bingo is scheduled 12:15-1:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday in Fairfield.


Activities are planned 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday in Lockridge.

Fairfield Community School District has listed its lunch menu for the coming week.


 


Preschools:


Monday ? breakfast: yogurt with graham snackers. Lunch: chili cheese max wrap, honey-glazed carrots, fancy pears.


Tuesday ? breakfast: ultimate breakfast round. Lunch: french bread pizza, peas, peaches.


Wednesday ? breakfast: breakfast bar. Lunch: beef and cheese ?tot?chos, homemade cornbread, raisels.


Thursday ? breakfast: breakfast pizza. Lunch: popcorn chicken, steamed broccoli, fresh fruit.


Friday ? breakfast: mini doughnuts. Lunch: cheeseburger on a bun, baked beans, fresh fruit.


 


Elementary schools:


Monday ? breakfast: yogurt with graham snackers. Lunch: corn dog, honey-glazed carrots, celery sticks, fancy pears.


Tuesday ? breakfast: ultimate breakfast round. Lunch: french bread pizza, peas, side salad with dressing, peaches.


Wednesday ? breakfast: breakfast bar. Lunch: beef and cheese ?tot?chos, homemade cornbread, salsa, frozen fruit cup.


Thursday ? breakfast: breakfast pizza. Lunch: popcorn chicken, garlic toast, steamed broccoli, cucumber slices, fresh fruit.


Friday ? breakfast: mini doughnuts. Lunch: cheeseburger on a bun, baked beans, baby carrots, fresh fruit.


 


Fairfield Middle School:

Fairfield High School:


Monday ? breakfast: breakfast pizza. Lunch: Tasty Traditions ? chicken Philly on ciabatta. The Grill ? shredded roast beef on ciabatta. Sides: french fries, frozen fruit cup.


Tuesday ? breakfast: biscuits and gravy. Lunch: Tasty Traditions ? cheesy Trojan bread with marinara. The Grill ? French bread pepperoni pizza. Sides: honey-glazed carrots, raisels.


Wednesday ? breakfast: cinni minis. Lunch: The Bar ? tacos. Sides ? Mexicali beans, rice, peaches.


Thursday ? breakfast: biscuits and gravy. Lunch: Tasty Traditions ? hamburger on a bun or cheeseburger on a bun. The Grill ? barbecued chicken on a bun. Sides ? steamed broccoli, applesauce.


Friday ? breakfast: breakfast burrito. Lunch: Tasty Traditions ? chicken and noodles with homemade roll. The Grill ? popcorn chicken with homemade roll. Sides: mashed potatoes, fancy pears.
