The Fairfield volleyball team enters the 2018 season ranked No. 13 in the Iowa girls high school athletic union?s Class 4A preseason poll.
Expectations are high for the Trojans who return eight seniors from a team that finished the 2017 campaign with a 24-9 record before being eliminated at Southeast Conference rival Fort Madison in the second round, 3-1.
The Bloodhounds are also ranked, sliding into the poll at No. 15 while Dubuque Wahlert, Sergeant Bluff-Luton and Cedar Rapids Xavier are ranked No. one-two-three, respectively.
Cardinal, Pekin and Van Buren will have two ranked foes in the SEISC with Holy Trinity Catholic No. 4 in Class 1A and West Burlington No. 15 in Class 2A.
