Fairfield youth basketball qualifies for Great Five-State Championship

The Fairfield seventh grade boys? basketball team that participated in the Pacesetter Sports Iowa youth basketball state championship, March 3rd in Pella, finished in second place behind Urbandale, earning a berth in the Great Five-State Championship at the Target Center in Minneapolis.

The five states that send their youth champions and runners-up to the tournament are Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin with the cheesy state making their debut in 2018.

The five-state playoff system is sponsored by the Minnesota Lynx and Timberwolves, and is held in conjunction with Lynx games.

Additionally, all players receive a free ticket offer to a Timberwolves game.

Fairfield will compete in the 10-team tournament on Sunday July 15th.
