Libertyville church plans soup lunch, movie Sunday

LIBERTYVILLE ? Faith United Methodist Church will have a cooperative ?souper bowl,? with a soup lunch and a movie at 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

The cooperative meal and movie will be held after the 10:30 a.m. worship.


First Baptist plans football party Sunday night

First Baptist Church is planning a party to view ?the big game? at 5 p.m. Sunday in fellowship hall.

Each person is asked to bring a snack to share and $3 for pizza.

Gathering Place hosting football party Sunday

The Gathering Place will have a party to view the annual championship game of the National Football League at 5 p.m. Sunday.

Everyone is welcome. Those attending are asked to being munchies.


First Presbyterian plans benefit luncheon Sunday

First Presbyterian Church is planning a ?souper bowl? luncheon following its 10 a.m. worship service.

Proceeds from the lunch will benefit The Lord?s Cupboard and Take Away Hunger.

The Lord?s Cupboard is the county?s emergency food pantry. Take Away Hunger is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit operated by Don and Sandee Fields of Brighton. The organization fights worldwide hunger by providing millions of meals packed by local volunteers, including a group of churches in Fairfield.


First Christian soup supper to benefit Lord?s Cupboard

The First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) will host its monthly soup supper 5-6:30 p.m. Thursday at the church.

The menu includes soups, pies, relishes and Kenny?s Cornbread.

A freewill offering will be collected to benefit The Lord?s Cupboard.

The Lord?s Cupboard Cupboard is Jefferson County?s emergency food pantry and distributes about 6,000 food orders per year. Donations of food or cash are always accepted at The Lord?s Cupboard, which is open from 1-4 p.m. Monday-Friday.
