FMS honors Students of the Month for December

Each school month, the Fairfield Elks Lodge sponsors the Fairfield Middle School ?Students of the Month? award.


The purpose of the award is to acknowledge positive contributions of FMS students at school, such as assisting teachers and peers in classroom activities and displaying characteristics as a role model in and out of the classroom.


The Students of the Month certificates are awarded after a nomination and voting process is completed by each grade-level teaching team.


Samu Shrestha is a fifth-grade Student of the Month for December. Her certificate states she ?is a hardworking student. She always comes to school with a good attitude. She is respectful to her peers and to her teachers. She is polite and always willing to help when she is asked. ... trust that she is going to do what she says. She goes above and beyond what is required and wants to push herself to be a better student.?


Chase Johnston is a fifth-grade Student of the Month. His certificate states ?Chase is always working hard in class. He comes each day with a great attitude and is ready to learn. He gives his best effort in everything he does. He works well with others and is a great role model for his peers.?


Connor Hawkins is a sixth-grade Student of the Month for December. His certificate states ?Connor comes to class ready and wanting to learn. Connor is always positive, he completes his work on time and is willing to help others in the class who might need it. Connor is a hard worker and is extremely valuable to the classroom with his discussion skills.?


Rowan Terrell is a sixth-grade Student of the Month. Her certificate states ?Rowan is a quiet leader, and works with those who need help around her, even when she isn?t asked to do so. She is respectful, gets her work in on time, and shows integrity by doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.?


Felicia Strong is a seventh-grade Student of the Month for December. Her certificate states ?Felicia?s positive, enthusiastic attitude is a great asset in a collaborative learning setting. She is also dedicated, finding joy in her work, which allows her to strive to her fullest potential (this includes moving up a section in band). Overall, Felicia is a pleasure to have in class as she elevates everyone?s thinking as a learner.?


Ricky Alonso is a seventh-grade Student of the Month. His certificate states ?His teachers describe him as a conscientious student who is ready to learn. Since he is an eager learner, this allows him to turn in outstanding work. In all, he works well among his peers and has a positive attitude.?


Erin Eddy is an eighth-grade Student of the Month for December. Her certificate states ?Erin is consistent, determined, and reliable. She does excellent work and sets high academic expectations for herself. Though normally quiet in class, when Erin speaks up, she has something important to say. She will passionately defend underdogs and anyone being treated unfairly. She will think carefully before offering her own conclusions ... observing others, taking in information, and looking at all points of view. When she contributes to a discussion, teachers and students can be sure that Erin?s two cents will present new ideas and will move the conversation in new ways.?


Kaidyn Mickels is an eighth-grade Student of the Month. His certificate states ?Kaidyn consistently demonstrates Trojan PRIDE in the classroom and sets a great example for his peers. He comes to class prepared and ready to learn Additionally, he respects both his teachers and peers and stays on task.?
