The Fairfield Middle School Marching Band will begin preparing for its 2018-19 debut performance next week.
The marching band, made up of seventh- and eighth-graders, will be performing in the Kiwanis Kids? Day parade Sept. 15.
Practices are scheduled before the new school year begins.
Practices are scheduled as follows:
Tuesday and Thursday ? 3 p.m. Drums and Flags are to meet in the FMS band room. Everyone else is to report at 4 p.m. Rehearsal will conclude at 5:30 p.m., with treats provided by Band Aides and various sponsors from the community.
?We also will be doing some marching outdoors, so wear comfortable shoes; no flip-flops ? tennis shoes are best, and clothing appropriate for the temperature outdoors,? said FMS band director Mary Andersen.
Additional practices and a performance schedule will be distributed to students at the FMS open house. The open house is set from 5-6:30 p.m. Aug. 30.
