The Jefferson County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach office is hosting a free ?Crops Feed the World? workshop for all youth in third- through sixth-grade from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 19 at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds Activity Building.
Participating youth will be a scientist for the day learning how crops are grown to feed people. They will learn about agronomy, botany, horticulture, soil science, environmental science and more as they do experiments and make observations. They will see how farmers and scientists work together and make decisions so enough food can be grown while protecting the environment.

Snacks will be provided, but participants should bring a sack lunch.
