Free four-part PowerPoint workshop starts Wednesday

BizTraining will have Ellen Finkelstein present a four-part workshop in August on ?Presenting Well with PowerPoint? as part of its ongoing USDA-funded series of free workshops.

Workshop dates are at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, 22 and 30 at the Fairfield Public Library.

Attendees should bring a laptop.

Finkelstein is a PowerPoint MVP (Most Valuable Professional, a Microsoft award), one of only 14 in the United States. Her website offers many PowerPoint tips and the PowerPoint Tips Newsletter. Her specialty is helping speakers create clear, powerful, and persuasive presentations.

The workshops are:

Session 1: Avoiding Death by PowerPoint. Reading bullet points from slides hinders understanding and makes your audience hate you. You?ll learn a simple technique for transforming boring slides into clear, striking, professional, and powerful presentations.

Session 2: 10 Shortcuts to Save You Time. Learn ways to create professional slides in less time! You?ll learn both interface and design shortcuts

Session 3: Working with Images and Graphs. Format images professionally (finding legal, free ones) and creating clears graphs that your audience actually understands.

Session 4: Using Animation and Creating Videos with PowerPoint. Learn the basics of animation and how to use it to help your audience understand your points. You?ll also get the steps to create videos with PowerPoint for marketing and teaching that you can put on your website, on YouTube, and social media.

The Maharishi University of Management College of Business received a USDA grant that provides free workshops, seminars and mentoring.
