Fairfield Park and Recreation, Fairfield First Fridays, and Fairfield Public Library invite residents to grab their lawn chairs or blankets and spend Friday evening watching a free movie shown on a large, inflatable screen in Central Park.
Previews will start at approximately 8:30 p.m., followed by ?The Lion King.?
Concessions -- water and popcorn -- will be available for purchase in Central Park. The proceeds from the concessions and any free-will offering will be used to fund next year?s summer movie series, for the purchase of movie rights, and other expenses of maintaining the equipment.
?We also will be collecting food for The Lord?s Cupboard,? said Marla Brader of Fairfield First Fridays. ?Please bring a nonperishable food item if you would like to help this great organization.?
The Lord?s Cupboard serves as Jefferson County?s sole emergency food pantry and distributes about 500 food orders per month. Nearly 50 percent of those served by the pantry are under the age of 18.
The summer movie series will continue Aug. 17 with ?Wonder,? Sept. 21 with ?Sherlock Gnomes,? and Oct. 12 with ?Coco.?
