Iowa State Fair offers new ?Fair After Dark? events

DES MOINES -- In 2018, the Iowa State Fair is launching a new exclusive behind the scenes event series for fairgoers over 21 called, Fair After Dark.


The inaugural year will feature two Fair After Dark events: ?Animals After Dark? in the Animal Learning Center and ?Agriculture After Dark? in the Agriculture Building.


?Animals After Dark? will be 9-11 p.m. Aug. 10. Participants will get up close and personal with the fair?s newest and cutest baby animals and be able to ask agriculture-related questions while enjoying a behind-the-scenes experience with a few drinks of choice.


?Agriculture After Dark? will be 9-11 p.m. Aug. 16. Participants will gain access to the infamous butter cow cooler, create colorful works of floral art and get close to Iowa?s bee industry. ?Agriculture After Dark? is a world tour of agriculture experienced with friends and brews.


Tickets are $20 for each event and are on sale now through the night of the event at www.iowastatefair.org.


Tickets include: access to fair icons such as baby animals and the butter cow, a souvenir lighted pint glass and two drink tickets.


Attendees must be 21 or over; no children allowed. Fair admission is not included, but advanced admission tickets are on sale at www.iowastatefair.org.
