July Fourth closures announced

The Fourth of July is Wednesday, so many offices, businesses and services will be closed to observe the holiday.

City, county, state and federal offices will be closed Wednesday.

No congregate meals will be served Wednesday at the Fairfield Senior Citizen Center.

No summer meals will be served by the Fairfield Community School District Wednesday. The school district offices will be closed.

Garbage and recycling collection in Fairfield will not be collected Wednesday. Collection will be a day late the remainder of the week. Households, with a normal collection day on Wednesday, will have their garbage and recycling picked up on Thursday. Thursday?s regular route will be picked up Friday, and Friday?s regular route will be done Saturday.

The Fairfield Public Library is closed Wednesday.

The Roosevelt Community Recreation Center and Roosevelt Aquatic Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the outdoor pool open from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday.

The post office will be closed Wednesday. No mail will be delivered.

The Fairfield Ledger will be closed, and no newspaper will be printed Wednesday.

Other businesses and offices could be closed and regularly scheduled activities could be canceled for the holiday; call ahead to check.
