Larry Lee Ornduff, 78 of Tomball, TX passed away peacefully in his home February 3, 2018 after a 24 year war with cancer. He won many battles against the disease that slowly ravaged his body, but ultimately it sent him to a better place with no more pain. Larry was born in Ottumwa, Iowa, September 4, 1939 to Wayne and Marjory Ornduff.
He was raised on a successful farm in Batavia, IA. Larry was a Navy vet, graduated from St. Cloud University and worked for many years as an accountant. In 1980 he and his family moved to the Houston area where Larry started his own construction company, which he operated successfully until his retirement.
Larry was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend and an avid car guy. Larry is survived by his wife of 49 years Joan, daughters Tonya Ellis and Dionne (Troy) Smajstria and son Sean (Tonya) Ornduff, grandchildren Austin, Morgan and Ethan Ellis and Jordan and Bryce Smajstria, brother David Ornduff and sister Betty Cox and Jane Ireland. His body has been donated to cancer research, after which he will be cremated.
