Lenten series underway at Hope Lutheran


BRIGHTON ? Hope Lutheran Church is holding a Lenten series on ?The Easter Experience? at 6:30 p.m. each Wednesday through March 28.

Word of Life holding midweek meal, Lenten service


Word of Life Lutheran Church is inviting everyone to attend its midweek Lenten services at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays as it explores the question of Jesus?s identity from the perspective of those who encounter him.


Wednesday, those attending will hear the conversation between Pontius Pilate and Herod Antipas, Ruler of Galilee, a power-hungry politician.


A Lenten meal will be served by the Word of Life worship team at 5:30 p.m. before the service.


 


Knights of Columbus fish fry raising funds for school scholarships


The Knights of Columbus annual Lenten Fish Fry will be 5-7 p.m. March 2 at St. Mary Catholic Church.


The menu will include catfish or shrimp or grilled cheese sandwich, baked potato, vegetable, cornbread, dessert and drink.


Proceeds will be used to fund school scholarships.


 


Gamma Circle meeting set Thursday


The Gamma Circle of First Presbyterian Church will meet at 2 p.m. Thursday at SunnyBrook Assisted Living.


Shirley McCracken will be hostess. Marshan Roth will have devotions, and Sandy Gillaspie will have the program.


 


Batavia church hosting chicken and biscuit supper


BATAVIA ? Batavia United Methodist Church will host a chicken and biscuit supper from 4:30-6:30 p.m. March 3 at the church.


The menu will include chicken and biscuits, green beans, salads, pie and cake.


A free will offering will be collected for the meal.


Everyone is welcome to attend.
