LOCKRIDGE ? Lockridge Fire and Rescue will host a community blood drive from 3:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Lockridge Senior Center.


Donors who last gave blood on or before Feb. 20 are eligible to give at this drive.

Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age, although a 16-year-old with a completed parental permission form also can donate. The form is available through www.bloodcenter.org. Donors must weigh more than 110 pounds. A photo I.D. is required. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure can be accepted as eligible donors. According to blood center personnel, blood donation is a safe, simple procedure that takes about 45 minutes to one hour.


Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center is the provider of blood and blood components to more than 90 hospitals in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin. It is the exclusive provider to Jefferson County Health Center.
