The Summer Band concert season by the Fairfield Municipal Band begins Tuesday.
The band is entering its 30th year of offering municipal band concerts to the city. Fairfield is fortunate to have the number of fine musicians that like to make music together and provide the concerts for the summer season.
The band is made up of members from Fairfield and surrounding communities who range from teenagers to septuagenarians (people in their 70s). The band plays a variety of music that includes traditional marches, light classical favorites, and movie and Broadway tunes.
Concert dates are Tuesday nights, June 19 and 26, July 10, 17, 24 and 31. Concerts are presented on the Ron Prill Bandstand in Central Park. Concert times are 8-9 p.m.
The summer series is sponsored by the Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department.
