Fairfield Public Library is starting a new monthly program, Goodnight Storytime/Rotary Reads, Tuesday.
The free evening story time program for children and their parents or caregivers starts at 5:15 p.m. and lasts a half-hour in the children?s department. Storytime will feature stories read aloud, songs, and rhymes.
?Not everyone can make it to our morning story time programs,? said Afton Hallauer, youth services librarian, ?I?m hoping that having a story time after 5 will be a good fit for families with working parents.?
The library is teaming up with volunteers from the Fairfield Rotary to offer an evening story time the third Tuesday of every month: Nov. 21, Dec. 19 and Jan. 16.
?I think it?s been maybe 10 years since our library offered an evening story time program,? Hallauer said, ?I?m really excited we?re offering this, and I hope lots of people can make it.?
