Three people were injured in a rollover accident Monday on Highway 34.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, Lorene R. Smith, 66, of Fairfield, was westbound at 9:22 a.m. on Highway 34 at mile marker 214 when her vehicle went onto the shoulder of the road. Smith over-corrected and went into the north ditch, ejecting one passenger.
Smith and two passengers, Delorous J. Shirley, 49, of Mt. Pleasant, and Elizabeth Gallegos, 46, of Fairfield, were taken by Midwest Ambulance to the Jefferson County Health Center. Gallegos was not wearing a seatbelt, but Smith and Shirley were.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Fairfield Police Department, Jefferson County Sheriff?s Office and Fairfield Fire Department.
