A portion of Orange Boulevard will be closed from Monday through next Friday as a bridge is replaced.
The bridge is located on the west side of Livingston Timber Recreation Area, between Perlee and Pleasant Plain in the northeast part of the county. Orange Boulevard crosses a pair of creeks near the park, and the bridge being replaced is the southern one.
The bridge will be replaced with a tanker car. Jefferson County Roads Superintendent Billy Droz said the current bridge is old and wooden. Its capacity is 3 tons. He said the tanker will not have a weight limit.
Orange Boulevard is gravel at that section, though it becomes dirt farther south.
