The Pekin boys? basketball team improved to 10-5 on the year with a 69-58 SEISC victory at Highland Tuesday night.
The Panthers shot 51 percent from the field and 62 percent from behind the arc while leading at the end of each period: 18-14, 40-30, 57-49 and 69-58 for the final.
Offensively, Pekin was led by senior Ryan Stansberry who had 18 points on 6-8 shooting including 5-7 from the perimeter. Fellow senior Chandler Eckley was second on the squad with 17 points on 6-9 shooting from the field and 5-5 from the charity stripe. Junior Cameron Millikin also had double-digits with 12 points to go with his four rebounds, five assists and four steals. Senior Levi Long and junior Caleb Comstock each had nine points for the Panthers as well.
Next for Pekin is 0-15 Columbus Junction who will travel to the airstripe Friday night for the Panthers second-to-last home game.
