Iowa defensive tackle Brady Reiff was charged with public intoxication in Iowa City following an arrest early Saturday morning that happened after police say he mistook a police cruiser for an Uber.
According to police, Reiff tried to open the door to a parked police vehicle, prompting an officer to ask what he was doing. Reiff said he was looking for a ride and answered ?yes? when asked if he thought the officer was an Uber driver.
Reiff, 22, registered a blood-alcohol content level of .204, according to the report.
Brother of former Iowa All-America tackle and current Minnesota Vikings tackle Riley Reiff, Brady Reiff has played in 20 games in two years with the Hawkeyes, recording 13 tackles (1.0 for loss), an interception and four passes defensed in 2017. He has two years of eligibility remaining after redshirting in 2015.
Iowa athletic director Gary Barta said the school is looking into the incident.
