Robotics team hosting free demonstration

Maharishi School?s high school robotics team will present a free robotics demonstration from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday in the Fairfield Public Library?s conference room to showcase its robot.

?We are a Maharishi high school robotics team,? said team member Lulu Miller. ?We are currently in a competition called First Tech Challenge. We are having loads of fun solving all different types of tasks such as sensing colors with our robot and picking up objects to place them in the correct area. We started working on our awesome robot in the summer and are so excited to share it with the community.?

In addition to the Maharishi School robotics team, ?we will have a guest team joining us as well,? said Miller. ?A collection of students from home school here in Fairfield, as well as [Fairfield High School] have a team that also has been competing in the First Tech Challenge. They have an amazing robot that has taken a lot of hard work.?

?We would love you to come and bring the kids to enjoy a presentation and a hands-on experience with the robots,? continued Miller. ?We feel it is very important to get kids excited about STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), and we thought what would be a better way of doing that than having a fun, interactive experience with our incredible robots.?
