The Jefferson County Sheriff?s Office reports the following incident:
6:58 a.m. ? Michael Allen Patton, 24, of Iowa City, was eastbound on Highway 34 near mile marker 211. He stated he fell asleep. His 2017 Dodge Journey left the roadway to the right, crossed the highway to the left shoulder then began crossing back to the right. It began rolling and rolled numerous times before coming to a rest on the driver side near a fence. According to the report, Patton was transported by Midwest Ambulance to Jefferson County Health Center with suspected serious/incapacitating injuries. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $21,000. Patton was charged with failure to maintain control.
8:09 p.m. -- A 2005 Toyota driven by Marina Renee Maxine McKay, 23, of Fairfield, stuck a deer in the 2100 block of Osage Avenue when the deer ran across its path. Damage was estimated at $4,000.
