The Jefferson County Sheriff?s Office reports the following incidents:
8:14 a.m. ? A truck and trailer westbound on Highway 34 near Fir slid off the roadway into the median. The truck was able to drive out. No damage was reported.
8:21 a.m. ? A semi driven by John Rhodes of Muscatine was eastbound on the Highway 34 exit 203 off ramp when it slid due to ice across Ash Avenue into the east side ditch. The trailer portion of the semi was blocking the roadway. Deran?s Towing arrived to pull the semi and trailer out. No damage and no injuries were reported.
9:11 a.m. ? An orange Pontiac Grand Prix slid off Highway 34 near Velvetleaf into the median. The vehicle was removed by a tow service before deputies arrived.
9:23 a.m. ? Judy Peterson of West Des Moines was eastbound on Highway 34 near Tangerine Avenue when she lost control of her green Pontiac Grand Prix and came to rest in the median. The driver was uninjured and no damage was done to the vehicle.
10:26 a.m. ? Alex Rauscher of Lockridge was southbound in the 2200 block of Wintergreen Avenue when he lost control of a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup and came to rest in the west side ditch. Minor damage was done to a nearby fence. No injuries were reported.
10:39 a.m. ? The driver of a black Chevy Equinox lost control of the vehicle in the 2300 block of Wintergreen because of the icy roadway and came to rest in the east side ditch. The vehicle was removed by a private tow. The driver was not present.
Noon ? A silver Chevy Malibu had been traveling west on Highway 34 near Spruce when the driver list control due to icy roadway conditions. The vehicle slid off into the north-side ditch. The vehicle was unoccupied when deputies arrived.
3:34 p.m. ? Gage Lacy of Cedar Rapids was traveling north in the 1500 block of Pleasant Plain Road when he lost control of his silver 2004 Dodge Intrepid. The vehicle entered the west ditch coming to rest along a fence line. Minor damage was reported to the vehicle and the fence. No injuries were reported.
6:31 p.m. ? A black Toyota 4Runner driven by Amy Kante of Ottumwa was northbound on Highway 1 in the 2700 block when she lost control of the vehicle and slid into the ditch. No injuries were reported.
