The Jefferson County Sheriff?s Office has reported the following incidents:


 


May 30


8:26 a.m. ? A two-vehicle accident was reported in the 1600 block of 155th Street. Ricky Eugene Cline of Fairfield was driving a red 2006 Ford Focus ZX3 eastbound. He applied the brakes and was struck from behind by a gray 1992 Buick LeSabre Limited driven by Wilma Jean Johnston of Packwood. Johnston was charged with failure to stop in an assured clear distance. Cline was charged with no proof of insurance (accident). Damages were estimated at $1,500 to Johnston?s vehicle and $6,000 to Cline?s vehicle.


 


Friday


10:40 a.m. ? A burglary/breaking and entering was reported to have occurred sometime between 5 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Saturday in the 50 block of Mound Street in Batavia. An air compressor valued at $560 was taken.


 


Saturday


9:11 a.m. ? Connie Lucile Adams, 55, of Fairfield, was driving a gray 2017 Ford Explorer eastbound on U.S. Highway 34/163. Adams lost control of the vehicle and entered the south ditch striking a concrete culvert near 1518 U.S. 34. Adams was charged with failure to maintain control. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $30,000. Damage to the culvert was estimated at $3,000.
