Suspects plead not guilty to Ottumwa robbery

OTTUMWA ? Eldon residents Jacob Bonner and Gabriel Clarkson have both pleaded not guilty to a charge of robbery, according to Iowa Courts Online.

The pair were arrested Tuesday morning and charged with robbing the BP Gas Station south of Ottumwa. Bonner was charged with second degree burglary, third degree robbery and assault while participating in a felony. Clarkson was charged with first degree robbery and possession of a controlled substance.

According to the Wapello County Sheriff?s Office, a caller at the BP Gas Station reported a male subject entered the gas station and pointed a handgun at the caller. The caller said the subject stole cigarettes after being unsuccessful in opening the cash register.

The caller provided a description of the vehicle to Wapello County Dispatch, which led to the arrests.
