In case you haven?t already heard, today is my last day with The Fairfield Ledger. But before I go, I would like to speak to how life-changing working for The Ledger has been for me these last nearly 3.5 years.
It?s been an honor to write about so many of you. To me, it?s been far more than a simple reporting job ? it has been a gratifying and rewarding experience that I will never forget.
I?ve covered the Jefferson County Supervisors, Fairfield City Council and the Fairfield Community School District. I?ve written about community members who have launched fundraisers for those diagnosed with critical illnesses; community and business leaders who have devoted their lives to the youth, and youth who are making a difference in the world. I?ve covered fair and rodeo queens, World War II veterans, tireless volunteers, law enforcement, the Jefferson County Health Center and so much more. I recently had the chance to ring the bells about a masterfully produced film that details the history of our town. To say the absolute least, I?ve been blessed to cover many amazing people during the last few years ? for that I am truly grateful.
You have allowed me into your homes, businesses, fraternal organizations, churches and local government; and the thought of our collaborative efforts aimed at sharing your stories with your friends and neighbors brings a smile to my face, so I just wanted to say thanks for that.
