Trojan boys? soccer wins fifth straight

The Fairfield boys? soccer team won their fifth game in a row and recorded their eighth victory in nine contests Thursday with a 5-1 win at Oskaloosa.


Sophomore Leone Gichure scored the lone goal for the Trojans that wasn?t recorded by member of the Fairfield Class of 2018. The other four goals all came from soon-to-be-graduates, with Blu Schultz and Shawn Spurrier each netting a goal and Captain Chaysten Titus scoring two.


80% of the scores Thursday were assisted, with freshman Xavier Kapijimpanga and sophomore Adrian Restrepo each claiming one and the senior Spurrier dishing two to go with his goal for a four-point effort.


Fairfield is now 9-4 overall, 5-0 SEC, and has home games remaining on the 10th and 11th before their final road trip on the 14th. They will then end the regular season May 17th at home.
