Trojans XC first, second at Van Buren Invite

The Fairfield cross country teams represented Trojan Nation well at the Riverview Country Club where the Van Buren Invite was held Tuesday evening.

The Trojans got all five runners in the top 10 of the AA race and needed every one of those slots to finish first over Davis County, 35-36.

?We had a good start as a team with Dalton, Harvey, Alex and myself running as a four pack,? explained Trojan Mark Diers.

?For the next 2 miles, Dalton, Alex and I ran the race together and were 6-7-8,? added Diers. ?At the end, Alex broke away and caught the fourth place guy. I?m proud of our team winning our second meet of the season and I?m excited for our home meet Thursday.?
