Libertyville UMW meeting

LIBERTYVILLE ? United Methodist Women of Faith United Methodist Church will meet at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the church.

Ulala Conger will be hostess.

Dorothy Henson will have the program.


Family movie night set

Fairfield Friends Church will host a family movie night at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

A second family movie night is scheduled for 7 p.m. July 25.

The viewing is open to the community.


Youth group pool party planned

First Baptist Church youth group students those entering sixth-grade and above are invited to a supper and pool party at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Paul and Lisa Greenig?s home.

Those attending should bring their own towels and goggles.


Indoor picnic at First Christian

First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) will have an ?Inside Picnic? after the worship service July 15 at the church.

Those attending should bring their own hot dogs or hamburgers to grill and a dish to share. Table service and drinks will be provided.

The worship service begins at 10:30 a.m.


Lockridge community vacation Bible school set

LOCKRIDGE ? The Lockridge community vacation Bible school is planned from 5-7:45 p.m. July 17-19 at Lockridge Community Center.

Potty-trained children through sixth-graders are invited to attend.

Registration will be at 5 p.m., a light meal will be served at 5:30 p.m., and lessons, crafts, games and singing will be 5:55-7:45 p.m. each of the three evenings.

The theme is ?Adventures of The Treasure Seekers.?

Money offerings will go toward Heifer International. Non-perishable foods and paper products will go to The Lord?s Cupboard.

A community church service will be at 10:30 a.m. July 22 at New Sweden Church. A potluck dinner will follow the service.

First Christian plans vacation Bible school

First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is offering free vacation Bible school for children ages 4-12 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. July 23-26 at the church.

A free light dinner will be served for the children who attend, and they also will have a snack before they go home every night.

The theme is ?Time Lab!?

According to organizers, participants should ?get ready to launch into hyperdrive at Time Lab, where we?ll discover Jesus from eternity past to eternity future. Did you know Jesus existed before he was born as the baby in the manger? Did you know he was actively involved in creating the universe? And that he existed even before we read about him in Genesis 1:1? Did you know we can find him in the accounts of the Old Testament? Do you know what he did while he was on earth? Do you know what he is doing right now? At Time Lab, we?ll have a blast uncovering the truth about Jesus through his Word!?
