Van Buren beats Danville

The Van Buren volleyball team beat Danville 3-1 Monday night in Keosauqua.

The Warriors took the first two games 25-14 and 25-9 before falling 24-26 in set three.

The home team took control in the decisive fourth game, winning 25-16 to advance to the third round of the Class 2A Region 8 bracket where they will face Regina in Iowa City Thursday at 7 p.m.

Sophomores Selena Sayre and Chloe Davidson combined for 30 kills and Logan Schmidt made 40 assists. Freshman Isabell Manning had 27 digs, while sophomore Tayrn Schaurmen led the Warriors with three of the teams seven blocks.
