Van Buren boys fall versus WACO 53-49

Even though the Van Buren boys seemed to be the better team Tuesday night in Keosauqua, Head Coach Fred Parsons and the Warriors fell to WACO 53-49.

Van Buren beat WACO 59-52 back on Dec. 12, but started slow Tuesday, trailing 12-10 at the end of one period and 25-24 at the break.

WACO pulled away with a 14-9 advantage in third quarter scoring, making a 16-14 offensive outburst in favor of the Warriors a moot point by the final eight minute frame.

The loss drops Van Buren to 8-7 overall with a date Friday night at 11-5 West Burlington who beat the Warriors 54-52 on Dec. 15 of last year. WACO improved to 6-9 and will host IMS Friday night.
