Van Buren County hosting blood

Van Buren County


KEOSAUQUA ? Van Buren County will host a community blood drive from 3:30-7 p.m. Dec. 27 at the Keosauqua Senior Center.


Donors who last gave blood on or before Nov. 1 are eligible to give at this drive. All presenting donors will have a choice of a gift card or a long-sleeved shirt.


For appointments to donate, contact the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center at 800-452-1097 or visit www.bloodcenterimpact.org and use code 5084 to locate the drive.


Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age, although a 16-year-old with a parental permission form can donate; the form is available through www.bloodcenter.org. Donors must weigh more than 110 pounds and have a photo I.D. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure can be accepted as eligible donors. Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center is the provider of blood and blood components to more than 90 hospitals in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin. It is the exclusive provider to Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.
