Fairfield freshman Kevin Kretz and junior Jackson Weaton represented the Ottumwa Bulldogs Saturday at the 2018 IHSAA State Swimming Championships in Iowa City.
Weaton swam 21.97 in the seed race to qualify 14th for the finals in the 50 yard freestyle race. Jackson then swam 22.11 in the final to tie for 16th place and earn a half of a point for Ottumwa, 1.36 seconds behind state champion Jacob Keller of West Des Moines Valley.
In the 100 yard freestyle race, Kretz finished 20th with a seed time of 48.71 and a finals time of 48.90, while Weaton swam 48.79 in the seed race and 50.22 in the finals. The 100 free was won by Jackson Allmon of Lewis Central who finished first in 45.61.
