MT. PLEASANT — Mount Pleasant Community Theatre announces auditions for “A House Divided” Sunday and Monday on the first-floor of Old Main on the Iowa Wesleyan campus.
“A House Divided” is by JD Luchsinger. Directed by Carrie Muhs and Dave Brown, this play is written by Muhs’ uncle, Jeff. It was produced in January 2014 at Pasadena Little Theater in Pasadena, Texas. Luchsinger has graciously given Mount Pleasant Community Theatre permission to direct it in Mt. Pleasant this summer. The play is a mystery that encompasses the Lincoln assassination and its aftermath. All this takes place at the Espy Hotel and Saloon in 1872 Virginia.
The cast consists of two preteen girls ages 12-14 or who look that age, and two women and four men. Last is a male to play a body, no audition required.
Auditions will be at 3 p.m. Sunday and 6:30 p.m. Monday.
“A House Divided” will run at 7 p.m. June 28 and 29 and at 2 p.m. June 30 at the Iowa Wesleyan Chapel.
