PHOTO SUBMITTED The Dave Leffler Quartet, shown here at its summer performance at Maharishi University of Management, will perform during lunchtime Saturday at the university’s Anna Purna Dining Hall.

The Dave Leffler Quartet will be playing American Songbook favorites and seasonal tunes from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Saturday at the Anna Purna Dining Hall on the Maharishi University of Management campus.

The DLQ includes bandleader Dave Leffler on vocals and keyboard, Steve Jeffries on saxophone and drums, Bill Vesely on flute, and Tim Laughrin on bass, with the recent addition of Richard Hulley on guitar and Arlene Leffler on violin. This performance also will include Paul Squillo on trumpet.

Admission is free and open to the public; however non-students must purchase a ticket for a vegetarian meal.

While the DLQ has been a popular Fairfield band since 2010, it has largely been on hiatus since fall 2015, when Leffler moved out of state. Now that he’s back, expect to hear more from this talented group of musicians. Saturday the DLQ opened for “It’s a Wonderful Life” at the Soundheim Center for Performing Arts; the DLQ also will be opening for two shows at the Sondheim in January: “The Winter Dance Party” Jan. 12, and “Sleeping Beauty” Jan. 26, playing tunes to reflect the moods of both shows.
